Hello, I’m Steph!

Welcome to my blog! I’m Steph, an orthodontist and freelance photographer living in San Francisco. This was originally started in 2010 as my dental school blog.

I’m a southern California native who hails from Walnut, a quiet suburb composed of residential units and horse trails. I moved back to California from Boston a few months ago. I currently call San Francisco my home.

Life is about the journey, not the destination. In 20 years, I want to be able to look back and this blog and remember how I got to this point in my life.

I am an artist inspired by the beauty of photography and the impact of words. Mirror & Explorer is a blog I started back in August 2008 as a creative outlet to document my adventures in Los Angeles, my experiences as a college student, and my path to becoming a dentist. Although many of my previous entries have been lost in the shuffle, I hope that this will become the permanent home for my blog.
